In house Material layout

When doing a layout, we take the template that we made from the on-site location and markout where how and where the material will be cut.

Restoration & Reconstruction

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Color matching ?

Color matching pertains to our in-house colorists when producing, joining, or repairing stone work projects. All adhesives are custom blended to create the best match for your stone.

Book matching is used when the veining in the material has an angular orientation on the slab. Book matching creates beautiful butterfly patterns.

What are the different types of Matching?

Slip matching Is used with strong directional material, usually vein-cut material. The slab is stacked to create uniform direction and flow.

Quarter matching is similar to book matching to create quadrants. This is usually used to make a butterfly effect in the finished product.

End matching is used to create continuous linear flow on material that has a very strong horizontal direction.

What is Profiling?

Profiling refers to the edge detail. Classic edge profiles are Eased Edge, OG, Bullnose, Half Bullnose, and many others. We can profile in large scale for bolection moldings which are classically used for fireplace surrounds. Profiling is used for steps, countertops, water table caps, and more.

What is Cladding

Cladding is the application of material to walls, ceilings, and structures. We use a variety of setting techniques depending on the application.

Cladding in bathrooms include full shower enclosures, walls, ceilings, and floors throughout as required.

Cladding in lobbies can be full walls or wainscot height walls, desks, planters fountain, and other areas as requied.

Cladding on Facades includes a water table, face panels, and other associated elements.

A Water Table is typically a low panel with a cap and base around a structure such as a house or building.

What is

Miters are used to create seamless returns on materials. Usually, we use a 45° cut on two pieces and glue them together to create a 90° angle. Mitering is a technique used to make thicker-looking edges, smooth returns on walls, designs around fireplaces, and many more applications.
