When doing a layout, we take the template that we made from the on-site location and markout where how and where the material will be cut.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Color matching ?

Color matching pertains to our in-house colorists when producing, joining, or repairing stone work projects. All adhesives are custom blended to create the best match for your stone.

Book

Book matching is used when the veining in the material has an angular orientation on the slab. Book matching creates beautiful butterfly patterns.

What are the different types of Matching?

Slip

Slip matching Is used with strong directional material, usually vein-cut material. The slab is stacked to create uniform direction and flow.

Quarter

Quarter matching is similar to book matching to create quadrants. This is usually used to make a butterfly effect in the finished product.

End

End matching is used to create continuous linear flow on material that has a very strong horizontal direction. 

What is Profiling?

Profiling refers to the edge detail. Classic edge profiles are Eased Edge, OG, Bullnose, Half Bullnose, and many others. We can profile in large scale for bolection moldings which are classically used for fireplace surrounds. Profiling is used for steps, countertops, water table caps, and more.

What is Cladding 

Cladding is the application of material to walls, ceilings, and structures. We use a variety of setting techniques depending on the application.

Cladding in bathrooms include full shower enclosures, walls, ceilings, and floors throughout as required. 

Lobby

Cladding in lobbies can be full walls or wainscot height walls, desks, planters fountain, and other areas as requied.

FACADE

Cladding on Facades includes a water table, face panels, and other associated elements.

WATER TABLE

A Water Table is typically a low panel with a cap and base around a structure such as a house or building.

How do I care 
for my 

Countertop?

Countertops require simple care. Countertops that are cleaned regularly with neutral ph soap and water will last for years.

-Countertops are NOT INTENDED to have hot items placed on them.

-Cutting and chopping should be done on an appropriate cutting board.

-The countertop is NOT INTENDED to support excessive weight.

How do I care for my bathroom?

​-Countertop- Clean regularly with neutral ph soap and water, rinse and dry.

-Showers- To be cleaned like the countertop. Wet areas need to be allowed to dry.

-Floors- Cleaned regularly with neutral ph soap and water, rinse and dry.

What is 
Modularizing?

​Modularizing is when the slab material is cut to create patterns. For instance, a countertop can have a running bond backsplash in the same material.

What is
Mitering?

Miters are used to create seamless returns on materials. Usually, we use a 45° cut on two pieces and glue them together to create a 90° angle. Mitering is a technique used to make thicker-looking edges, smooth returns on walls, designs around fireplaces, and many more applications.

Our Different Finishes

1 / Polishing

Polishing creates a highly reflective surface. Each stone achieves its own level of polish.

2 / Honing

Honing adds a matte finish to the product.

3 / Leather

Leathering is used to create a textured finish. It is also known as Antiqued or Brushed. It is accomplished by a combination of processes based on the material.

4 / split face

Split face is a rough texture that is often used in an exterior application. It is also used to create a rustic look.

4/ Hand Textured

Hand washing is a special custom finish created for or specified by the client.

5 / Acid Washing

Acid washing is used to create a textured finish on calcium-based materials such as limestone or marble.

6 / CArving

Carving is executed in either a traditional or a modern impressionistic style to create a unique product for that special application.
